Originally dating from 1199, this historic castle in Bernstein in Central Burgenland is the birthplace of Ladislaus Almásy, whose life was featured in the movie "The English Patient", which won 9 Oscars.
His descendants still run the hotel today. Each of the spacious rooms at Burg Bernstein is decorated with original furnishings and has a tiled stove, wooden floors, a seating area, and a private bathroom.
