For decades, the circus has brightened the faces and cheered the spirits of adults and children alike. As a young child, Prince Rainier was fascinated with the circus world and in 1974, he created the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival to showcase the world's greatest Big Top performers: spectacular animal acts, uproarious comedic performances, and masterfully choreographed acrobatic feats. From 20 to 30 January 2022 the Principality once again became the global circus capital. Under the presidency of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, the International Circus Festival rewarded the best artistes of our time with the Gold Clowns, in front of an audience who gets to admire their skills in the Fontvieille Big Top. A selection of the best international acts is presented each year at the Festival which is broadcasted around the globe. Even if you don’t really like a circus, this show you must visit, as it is very unique. Plus everyone in the circus is a part of a family, and they are trying their best to impress you!
