The Grand National at Aintree is the one annual race when the nation comes together to have a bet, and families gather around the TV for one of the biggest racing events. Held at Aintree Racecourse each year since 1839, this race tests the will and closeness of both horse and jockey for just over four miles. Back in those days, horses jumped a stone wall, crossed plowed land, and finished over two hurdles, which made the race even harder as well as more exciting. There are, actually, a lot of debates going on about the first Grand National, and historians are not quite sure who won it. Nevertheless, this event became very popular afterward and fame spread all around the world as the race attracted more and more people. With horses jumping 30 fences, the race offers a breathtaking combination of speed and stability. It is a world treasure that will remain an astonishing memory of yours.
