In 1948, as people from all over the world were picking up the shards of their lives after World War II and girding for the long Cold War, Prince Ranier made a gregarious philanthropic decision in creating a Red Cross for the principality, and by holding a benefit for it during the summer social season. Today this is the greatest Charity Gala in the world that gathers all the international superstar elite and personalities together with donors from across the planet. The ball is held annually at the Sporting d’Eté Club in the Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo. Guests enjoy a night filled with the wonder of a prestigious auction, a delectable dinner, a concert by a famous performer, and first-class fireworks.
