Giving Tuesday was founded in 2012 in New York. It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company, or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give. Just a really nice way to communicate with the rest of society and do something good for it.
