Established in 2009 by Made Event, the internationally renowned Electric Zoo Festival is one of New York City’s largest music festivals. Electric Zoo is an annual electronic music festival held over Labor Day weekend in New York City on Randall's Island. International editions of Electric Zoo have taken place in Mexico City, Tokyo, Shanghai and São Paulo. This year’s 10th annual New York edition, themed ‘The Big Ten’, and will take place at Randall’s Island Park. The festival represents all sub-genres of electronic music, bringing top international DJs and live acts from multiple countries to four stages. In its inaugural year, 2009, almost 30,000 people attended the event to see artists like Armin van Buuren, Deadmau5, David Guetta and Ferry Corsten. In 2011, Electric Zoo expanded to a 3-day festival and this time they had the whole 85,000 visitors. Electric Zoo received International Dance Music Awards nominations in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 for "Best Music Event".
